Assistance for new mining projects

The Mine Development Panel (MDP) process gives project proponents the opportunity to discuss all aspects of their project with MEG, before lodging a development application or modification application with the relevant consent authority.

An MDP meeting provides:

  • the opportunity for proponents to demonstrate their proposal is a responsible and sustainable mining or petroleum development; a development that minimises impacts on the environment.
  • technical feedback to streamline the development consent process.

Please refer to the Mine Development Panel - Policy and requirements guide (PDF, 134.36 KB) which details the requirements for presentation to the MDP and associated policies.
