Forecast demand growth for critical minerals presents an important economic opportunity for NSW.

The state has an abundance of critical minerals, with a number of advanced projects and emerging opportunities for cobalt, rare earth elements, scandium, magmatic zirconium, platinum group elements and tungsten. NSW is also a producer of high-tech metals including copper and silver, which are critical for electrification and new technologies for renewable energy.

A table of critical mineral projects and prospects is available here (XLSX, 33.07 KB).
