Seismic surveys

Seismic surveying is a geophysical technique that uses vibrations (seismic waves) produced artificially to investigate rocks up to 60 km below Earth’s surface. Geoscientists interpret the imagery produced to interpret geological features in the crust and to help define areas of mineral, groundwater or energy resource potential. Surveys are conducted by government agencies using experienced contractors.
