Recent activities

Recent MinEx CRC activities in NSW include the following:

  • An interpretive report and data package for the Cobar Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) Survey is available here
  • An airborne electromagnetic survey was completed over the Mundi Mundi plains northwest of Broken Hill. Download the data here
  • 60 water samples for hydrogeochemical analysis were collected (with CSIRO) from the Forbes MinEx focus area. Each sample was tested for ~60 analytes, with selected samples analysed by a range of isotopic and geochronological techniques. The analytical results were forwarded to landholders in July 2021 and are available on MinView
  • An interpretive report for the Forbes hydrogeochemistry survey is being written (coming soon!)
  • New whole rock geochemistry and U-Pb zircon geochronology data was generated on various rock samples in all five MinEx focus areas in NSW. The results are available on MinView
  • Geological mapping was conducted in the Cobar focus areas in March and June 2021.
  • New mapping work (up to December 2021) in the South Cobar MinEx focus area is available here
  • A paleolandscape report for the Cobar region is available here
  • An online information session to update the community on the Mundi MinEx CRC airborne electromagnetic (AEM) Survey was released in February 2021. A recording of the session is available here
